Senior Announcements


Dear Senior,

This school year is quickly coming to a close.  Please look over the information
below of important dates.  Permission forms will be available in the High School
office.  Senior trips are a day of required attendance.  Seniors need to either go
on the trips or come to school or they will be counted absent.

Saturday School will be offered April 10, 17, 24 and May 1, 8, 15 and 22.

The deadline for college visits will be April 30.

The Rotary Club Honors Banquet will be held in the Round Room on May 11.
Invitations will be sent to the top 10% of each class, award recipients and Rotary
scholarship applicants.  This banquet is for the students and parents.  Parents who
receive an invitation should respond to the High School no later than May 3.

The Attendance Committee will meet Wednesday, May 5, at 3:15 p.m.  All written
appeals concerning attendance for seniors who have violated their Probationary
Attendance Agreement must be submitted no later than 3:00 p.m. on April 28.

Senior Wills are due to Mrs. Doty by 3:00 p.m. on May 7.  They must be signed by all
submitting parties to be considered.

The deadline to turn in paperwork to your counselor for seniors who have an early
out or part-time attendance is May 7.

The Junior/Senior Prom will be held at the Elizabeth Hall in Leadington on May 8.
Any student who is under suspension will not be allowed to attend the prom.  You
must attend school on Friday, May 7, to go to the Prom.  Pictures will begin at 5:30
p.m.  Envelopes to order pictures will be available in the office.  The dance will
begin at 7:00 p.m.  The coronation will be at 10:00 p.m.  Once you leave you cannot
re-enter.  The prom is formal dress.

Seniors can pick up their graduation tickets from Mr. Hostetler in the cafeteria
during the lunch shifts beginning May 10.  Each senior  will be given eight tickets
for the gymnasium and two for the cafeteria.  A sign up sheet will be available for
those who need to sign up for additional tickets.  Extra graduation tickets will be
available on May 19.  This is in case of inclement weather and graduation will have
to be held in the big gym.  Otherwise, tickets will not be required if graduation is
held outside.

The deadline to sign up for Project Graduation is May 14. You must pay $5 when you
turn in your signed guideline sheet.  The sheet will be available in the High School
office.

Seniors who want to add correspondence course grades or credit recovery to their
high school transcript should report final grades to Ginny by May 14.

Missouri Option Graduation will be held on May 14.

Senior finals will be given May 17 periods 2, 4 and 6;  May 18 periods 5 and 7 and
May 19 periods 1 and 3.  A note from the principal will be required to make up
exams.

Seniors will clean out their lockers during their lunch shift on May 19.

Baccalaureate practice will be held May 19 in the gym during periods 5, 6 and 7.

Baccalaureate will be held in the gym at 7:00 p.m. on May 19.  A ticket is not
required for Baccalaureate.  Seniors should be here at 6:30 p.m.  They need to wear
their cap and gown for Baccalaureate.

The Perfect Attendance Trip to the St. Louis Cardinal Baseball game is set for May
20.  Eligible students will leave at 8:00 a.m. and return at approximately 5:00 p.m.
 Permission forms will be available in the High School office.

The Awards Assembly will begin at 8:00 a.m. on May 21.  It should last first, second
and third hour.

Graduation practice will be held following the assembly May 21.  A photographer from
Lifetouch will take a senior group picture at approximately 10:30 a.m.  This picture
will be of seniors in their street clothes.  Fliers will be available to order a
picture when the picture is taken.  After practice seniors will be dismissed for
lunch on their own.  Seniors will need to report  back to school at 12:30 p.m. to
finish practicing for graduation.

Graduation will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21.  Graduation is being planned
to be held outside.  It will be moved inside due to weather, if necessary.  Seniors
should be here at 7:00 p.m.  Tickets are necessary to enter graduation if it is held
inside.  If a child occupies a seat, he/she must have a ticket.

Envelopes will be available in the High School office to place an order for
graduation pictures.  The envelope and money will be due the night of graduation.
Be sure to give it to Lifetouch the night of graduation.

Project Graduation will be held at Farmington Civic Center.  We will board buses
after graduation at approximately 10:00 p.m.  Seniors who participate in Project
Graduation will return to PHS at approximately 7:00 a.m. on May 22.

Field Day at City Park will be held on May 24.  Seniors may attend.

Senior Project Graduation Trip to Six Flags on May 25.  Lunch will be provided.  All
graduating seniors are eligible to attend.

Beginning May 26 seniors can pick up their diploma in the High School office.
Seniors need to finalize grades, attendance, discipline, bills, etc. before diplomas
will be issued.

Prior to graduation seniors are reminded they must meet all the graduation
requirements.  This includes:

Credits and requirements-All incomplete grades must be cleared.
All financial obligations must be taken care of.  This includes lunch bills.
Students must return all books.
Seniors must have all discipline satisfied.

Seniors who need a final transcript sent after school is out should see Ginny.
Also, all A+ seniors need to bring their social security card to the A+ office to be
copied and placed in their files.  All A+ seniors must have a FAFSA form filed and
documentation on file in the A+ office showing that it has been filled out to be
eligible to receive A+ funding.
