This is Jill's fifth year teaching at Potosi High School.   She graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in the spring of 2004,  taught one year at Viburnum High School before coming to Potosi.  Her degree is in  Business Education.   In her spare time she enjoys reading,  shopping, and running.

Classes:  

Accounting 1

Accounting I is the study of the theory and practice of double-entry accounting. The student will learn the record keeping necessary for a one-owner business or a partnership and will gain the knowledge to hold an entry-level position as an accountant. The student will learn to understand the need for financial reports and develop the background for continued study toward advanced accounting. Simple accounting transactions on the computer will be introduced.

 

Multi Media

This class is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills they will need to successfully use different types of media and media related software.   Practical examples of how students can apply their media skills at school, at work, and at home will be provided.

 

 

Keyboarding I and II

Keyboarding is the beginning Keyboarding course for students who have had no previous high school keyboarding instruction. Keyboarding II is a continuation of Keyboarding I. The student will operate several different word processing programs, use the Internet, and e-mail. It is recommended for students who wish a greater keyboarding skill for personal use and as background for developing vocational skills. Students planning for college or other post high school training should take Keyboarding II to help them with the typing of reports and projects.

 

Internet

Internet class is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills they will need to successfully navigate the internet. Practical examples of how students can apply their online skills at school, at work, and at home in their leisure time will be provided. This class will also be in charge of updating and maintaining the high school website.

Computer Applications I

Computer Applications begins with the basics of word processing and computer use for those who have limited experience with computers.  This course makes students proficient users of the word processing and database software.  This course is recommended for students planning for college or as background for developing vocational skills.

Computer Applications II

Computer Applications II is a semester course designed to provide students with the opportunity to learn spreadsheet and multimedia presentation software.  Spreadsheet applications will enable students to learn how to apply formulas to specific cell location in order to perform mathematical computations.  Multimedia presentation software.
