Mr. Reese

In 1978, Mr. Reese earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Missouri State University. In 1980, he earned a Master of Science in Life Sciences from the same university. Mr. Reese worked as an industrial microbiologist in the animal bacteria field, an environmentalist for the lead mining industry, and as an industrial hygienist in the lead smelting industry from 1979-1986. In the fall of 1986 he began the process of obtaining teacher certification in science through Webster University in St. Louis and also began teaching middle school science at Potosi Middle School. After 20 years in that position, he applied for and received a continuing certification in chemistry and began his 22nd year in education teaching chemistry, biology, and physical science at PHS. Additionally, since the spring semester of 2004, Mr. Reese has served as an adjunct faculty member of the science department at Mineral Area College where he instructs the biology class for the Potosi campus. Mr. Reese spends his free time working on his farm, maintaining his rental property, and helping raise his two grandsons.

Classes  

Physics

Physics is an introduction to the study of force and motion.  Material studied will include the relationship of energy to work, electricity, and magnetism.  The course is designed with the academic tracked student in mind.

Botany

Botany concerns the members of the plant kingdom and attempts to familiarize the student with the taxonomy, structure, physiology, and ecology of this kingdom.  This course of study provides valuable information on the nature career path.

Chemistry

Chemistry is a study of matter and its laws of combination.  All three states of matter are studied as to how and why matter exists as it does in nature.  This course is designed for students who plan to obtain a four year college degree.
